Job Overview

Osmoses Inc. is a diverse and growing team of scientists, engineers, and business professionals developing a new generation polymer membrane technology for industrial gas separations. Osmoses Inc. membrane technologies can redefine the way chemical separations are performed today and disrupt separation markets worldwide, reducing industrial energy consumption while accelerating the adoption of alternative energy sources with lower environmental impact.

Osmoses Inc. is building a Product and Engineering team to design, qualify, and deploy small- and large-scale pilots for the first Osmoses product line. The Product and Engineering team will work on process engineering, pre- and post-pilot membrane testing, and detailed planning and design work en route to commercial-scale pilots.

The Process Engineer will work cross-functionally with the technology and the engineering and business teams to support the development of the first product through engineering analysis. They will build process models for membrane separation systems and traditional separation technologies such as pressure-swing adsorption, amine absorption, and distillation. The process engineer will work with the process team to support customer engagement en route to planning and execution of pilot projects. The work will primarily include modeling of customer-specific use cases and techno-economical analysis for membrane or hybrid separation systems.

Job Duties

  • Develops process design models for gas separation applications including unit operations such as pressure-swing adsorption, gas separation membranes, and cryogenic distillation.

  • Engages with the technology team and prospective customers to establish process model scope, separation requirements, and engineering roadmap to deploy selected solutions.

  • Performs customer-specific process analysis, engages in team meetings with customers, organizes findings, presents outcomes, and iterates on analysis based on feedback.

  • Considers application-specific and company-specific design criteria in process analysis in order to add value for customers in select market applications.
