Annual In-Person Requirement: Team members are expected to spend a minimum of 4 weeks per year in Bengaluru, India for planning sessions, founder meetings, team collaboration, workshops, and company events.

Additional travel may occasionally be required for portfolio company engagements, conferences, investor events, or offsite gatherings.

The Role

As a Product Engineer at 16VC, you will work at the intersection of engineering, product, design, startups, and AI.

This is not a traditional engineering role focused solely on implementation. We are looking for builders who can understand problems, propose solutions, design experiences, write code, and ship products that people actually use.

You will work directly with founders, operators, advisors, and leadership teams across the 16VC ecosystem.

  • Build full-stack web applications and internal tools

  • Integrate AI models, APIs, databases, and third-party platforms

  • Rapidly prototype and validate new concepts

  • Own projects end-to-end and drive execution independently

  • Contribute to product strategy, user experience, and technical decisions

Required Qualifications

  • Strong software engineering fundamentals

  • Experience building and shipping production applications

  • Experience working across frontend and backend systems

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently in fast-paced environments

Experience with one or more of the following:

  • AI agents and workflow automation

  • n8n, Make, or similar automation platforms

Nice to Have

  • Startup or founder experience

  • Side projects with active users

  • Open-source contributions

  • Experience building AI-native products

  • Experience working in early-stage startups

  • UI/UX design experience

  • Experience launching products with real customers

What We're Looking For

We value people who:

  • Move quickly and execute with urgency

  • Take ownership without waiting for instructions

  • Think about products, not just code

  • Enjoy learning new technologies

  • Care deeply about users and outcomes

  • Thrive in ambiguity and early-stage environments

  • Have a builder mentality and a bias toward action

We care far more about what you have built than where you have worked.

Why Join 16VC

  • Build products used by founders, operators, and startups

  • Work directly with venture-backed companies and emerging technologies

  • Gain exposure to AI, enterprise software, and venture capital

  • Contribute to products from concept to launch

  • Work alongside experienced founders, operators, and investors

  • Competitive compensation and long-term growth opportunities

If you're a builder who enjoys moving fast and creating products that people actually use, we'd love to hear from you.
