Upkid is building the future of childcare by creating a marketplace for teachers to find flexible work. We are looking for a Head of Growth to join our team.

About the role

  • As Head of Growth for Upkid, you will be part of our founding team and lead the growth efforts as we expand nationwide.

  • You will be in charge of user acquisition on both sides of our marketplace.

  • You can be located anywhere, though we are headquartered in Utah

What we are looking for

  • Upkid is looking for a seasoned startup marketer with expertise in user acquisition and growth hacking strategies to join our team.

  • We are looking for someone that is a doer and has the ability to make things happen. As such this will be an individual contributor position to start. As we grow and need to build the growth team it would be ideal if this person could be that team leader and build a team.

  • This is for you if you’re a critical thinker who enjoys finding creative means to attract early users. You love experimenting with various digital and traditional user-acquisition channels to grow early-stage startups. You live by data and thrive in an environment of rapid testing and iteration.

  • Ability to interact with users, meet users where they are, and build community.

  • You’re experienced with various online ad serving platforms, B2C + B2B marketing, analytics and lean startup methodologies. Current or prior Google Analytics and AdWords Certifications are a plus.

  • As you’ll be working very closely with the founders and report to them and Upkid investors, excellent communication skills are critical for success.


  • Experience: 3+ years in Startup Online Marketing / User Acquisition/ Growth

  • Timeframe: ASAP

  • Travel: Willing to travel to new markets that we are opening for short periods of time

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize a variety of marketing strategies for product market experimentation to validate effective user acquisition channels

  • Set up and maintain online advertising campaigns for product experiments and ongoing product user acquisition/retention

  • Use various marketing tools for product market research

  • Participate in venture strategy and planning meetings

  • Interpret Customer Acquisition Cost as it related to Lifetime Value of users

    (CTC:LTV Ratio)

  • Stay up to date with best practices, strategies and industry trends related to User

    Acquisition / Growth Hacking / Marketing

  • Effectively collaborate and communicate with Upkid product teams

  • Be able to communicate effectively with key partners, as you will be

    continually working alongside partners from diverse backgrounds

  • Ability to design simple content or collaborate with a designer to build assets for successful


  • Aggregate data and present reports on experiments for success tracking

  • Ensure user feedback is integrated into product experiments

  • Analyze and identify marketing risks

  • Execute with exceptional creative problem-solving skills
