Themis is seeking a Head of Operations to oversee daily activities across functions such as finance, IT, and regulatory compliance. Head of Operations responsibilities includes designing operations of our company, overseeing and building Finance, IT, and HR from scratch. Themis is a collaboration workflow tool to help streamline Governance, Risk and Compliance workflows. The workflows in Themis represent different regulatory obligations required for banks to partner with fintechs. Themis also serves as plug and play compliance department for fintechs. Themis has raised $9m and is working with reputable clients in banking and fintech. It's probably the coolest compliance tool you've seen.

The Role: Act as the liaison between the CEO/founder and the rest of the team, taking the CEO/founder’s vision and transforming it into an executable plan

  • Responsible for the company’s finances and budget. Collaborate with other departments to operationalize revenue opportunities and provide recommendations for cost cutting.

  • Research vendors to help with operations, accounting, finance and IT.

  • Point of contact for contract maintenance. Responsible for tracking vendor and customer renewals as well as specific requirements per customer.

  • Create automated processes for invoicing, collecting payments and payroll for consultants / international employees.

  • Develop the strategy to expand operations and hire in Canada and Europe.

  • Oversee and manage the company’s SOC 2 and financial audit processes. Set up meetings with stakeholders to obtain proper approvals and sign-offs

  • Develop and maintain company policies and procedures.

  • Oversee Themis’ RIsk and Control Assessment Process. Create controls and obtain attestations from departments to validate controls continue to be in place.

  • Work with HR to set up company-wide personnel and operational KPIs

  • Work with CEO on special company projects and fundraising

What we look for:

  • 7-10+ years in finance, banking, consulting or another analytical role

  • Experience in working at an early stage start-up with proven ability to execute and run key projects

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate and influence.

  • Work well in a fast-paced environment juggling multiple priorities

  • Love rolling up their sleeves and going from 0 to 1
