Driven by a team of experts, Return aims to provide reliable energy storage that powers the future of clean energy.

About the Role
As Project Manager for Construction, you will support the execution of stand-alone BESS projects across Germany, working closely with senior project leadership and multi-disciplinary teams. You will help coordinate EPC contractors and key suppliers, and represent Return in day-to-day technical, contractual and site-related matters.

You will play an important role in helping ensure that projects are delivered safely, in accordance with specification, on time and within budget, while upholding high standards in engineering, quality and compliance. This role offers the opportunity to build deep expertise in BESS construction and grow into increasing levels of project responsibility.

What You'll Do

  • Support execution of stand-alone BESS projects, owning defined work packages under the guidance of senior project management

  • Coordinate with project teams and EPC partners on day-to-day execution, helping ensure alignment across engineering, construction, commissioning and asset management functions

  • Support key project management areas: planning, risk tracking, stakeholder coordination, HSE, contract administration, site supervision, QA/QC, and interface management

  • Act as a day-to-day point of contact for EPC contractors, subcontractors, grid operators, technical authorities and local stakeholders, escalating strategic or contractual issues to senior management as needed

  • Support the review and validation of design implementation, civil works, MV/HV electrical installation, power electronics integration, and commissioning activities

  • Help resolve day-to-day issues on site, supporting continuity of execution and compliance with regulatory and permitting requirements

  • Collaborate with finance, legal, procurement and commissioning teams to support cost tracking, contract compliance and smooth project handover

  • Prepare regular reporting and decision-support documentation for senior management and project stakeholders

  • Based in Munich with regular site visits to project locations across Germany

What you bring

  • Growing experience delivering infrastructure or energy projects, with a genuine interest in construction oversight and contractor coordination

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in project management or construction roles within the (renewable) energy, industrial or grid infrastructure sector in Germany or neighboring countries

  • Exposure to BESS, high-voltage grid connections, substations, power systems or EPC frameworks is a plus

  • BSc or MSc in Engineering (Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, Energy or related discipline)

  • Basic understanding of contract management; exposure to claims, change orders or performance guarantees is a plus

  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with a proactive, hands-on approach and willingness to learn

  • Business fluent in German and English, capable of representing Return directly towards German authorities, grid operators and site partners.

  • Willingness to travel across Germany
