Maintenance Generalist – Handyman & Property Care

  • Operations
  • Full-time
  • Colorado Springs, CO
  • 22 - 28 USD an hour

Renjoy manages 200+ vacation rental homes across Colorado Springs and Woodland Park. Keeping those homes in top condition for guests is the job — and most of what breaks doesn't require a licensed contractor. It requires someone skilled, fast, and detail-oriented who takes pride in doing the work right the first time.

That's this role.

You're not patching things to buy time. You're fixing them correctly, documenting everything, and leaving every property better than you found it. You'll close 6–8 tickets per day across multiple properties — door latches, hot tub chemistry, smart lock connectivity, seasonal property prep, furniture repair, fixture replacement, and whatever else needs a skilled set of hands.

We're pushing hard to get 200+ properties guest-ready before peak season. That means real work, real volume, and real impact starting day one.

This is high-volume, self-managed, craftsmanship-driven work. If you take pride in a clean repair and hate cutting corners, you'll fit here.

✅ No trade license required. Skill, reliability, and accountability matter most.

What You'll Do

Fix & Repair — Most of what you'll handle is fast, practical problem-solving: door latches that won't catch, window locks that are missing, sofa beds that have come apart, door hinges that need adjusting, appliances stuck in error states, loose floorboards. You diagnose it, fix it correctly, and move on.

Smart Home & Tech — You'll troubleshoot smart lock connectivity, replace batteries in Brivo hubs and Yale deadbolts, assist with device installs (Minut noise sensors, locks, thermostats), and handle basic network troubleshooting. You don't need to be an IT pro — but you need to be comfortable with technology and not intimidated by a hub that's gone offline.

Seasonal Property Care — Gutter cleanouts, portable AC installation and removal, furnace filter replacements, fall cleanup, and snow removal are a recurring part of the calendar. You'll move through these efficiently as the seasons change across our portfolio.

Inspect & Prevent — Conduct thorough property inspections. Tighten hardware, check filters, test devices, identify what's about to fail before it becomes a guest complaint. Preventative work is some of the most valuable work you'll do here.

Support the Field Operations Team — Renjoy also has a Level 1 field team handling the quick stuff — battery swaps, supply runs, smart home resets. Your job is the work that requires real skill. When something goes beyond their scope, it comes to you. Stay in your lane and own it completely.

Perform at Volume — 6–8 tickets per day, moving efficiently between properties. Pace and craftsmanship aren't mutually exclusive here — we expect both.

Document Everything — Log every task in our Task App with photos before you leave the property. At Renjoy, documentation is completion. If it isn't logged and photographed, it didn't happen. This is non-negotiable.

Represent Renjoy — You'll be inside guest homes, sometimes during active stays. Be professional, clean, and respectful of the space. You are Renjoy in that moment.

Who Thrives Here

You finish a job and look back at it before you leave. You notice the scuff on the baseboard that wasn't on your ticket and you fix it anyway because leaving it felt wrong. You don't need someone telling you what to do next — you manage your own time, your own route, and your own standard.

You also:

  • Have strong general handyman skills — hardware, fixtures, furniture, basic plumbing, and mechanical troubleshooting

  • Can figure out why a smart lock is offline and get it back up

  • Can lift 50+ lbs consistently and work in all Colorado weather conditions

  • Are comfortable using field software and apps to manage tasks and documentation

  • Have a valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle

  • Hold yourself accountable to quality even when no one is watching

  • Communicate clearly when something needs escalating or a property needs more attention than a quick fix

Be Honest With Yourself First

Documentation is not optional. We require photo documentation and task logging in our app for every single job. Not most jobs — every job. Skipping it or faking it is immediate grounds for termination. If that feels excessive, this isn't the right fit.

We track productivity. This is not a hide-in-the-truck role. We know how long standard tasks take. Efficiency matters and it's measured. You'll be expected to hit your ticket count while maintaining quality — both, not one or the other.

Weekends are part of the job. Vacation homes don't break on weekdays only. Some weekend availability is expected.
