We are looking for a skilled Principal Engineer for Pudgy World, who has a proven track record of leading engineering efforts for successful games. As the Principal Engineer you will lead and grow highly-skilled engineers with technical vision and mentoring, delivering a top-notch training platform to hundreds of thousands of players everyday.


Role Expectations
 

  • Serve as a technical leader on Pudgy World and all associated projects. 

  • Lead the engineering team to define and implement strategic goals and milestones, establish best practices, and promote the core development values of the engineering team. 

  • Own the big picture for engineering while rolling up your sleeves and coding critical features for Pudgy World. 

  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to the engineering team.

  • Set the bar for engineering within the org to increase productivity and effectiveness by sharing your deep knowledge and experience. 

  • Be a hands-on participant in architecture/design for our hardest technical challenges. 

  • Implement critical engineering processes such as continuous integration, code reviews, and branching strategies. 

  • Work with Product Management, Art & Design, Marketing and other disciplines leads to scope tasks and support the roadmap, sprints, and key milestones. 

  • Balance technical leadership with strong business judgment to make the right decisions about technology choices. 

  • Possess expert knowledge in performance, scalability, enterprise system architecture, and engineering best practices. 

  • Own the hiring process for the game’s engineering team by identifying skill gaps and work with talent acquisition and people managers to find and recruit candidates.

You have 

  • 7+ years of professional experience as a software engineer shipping games.

  • 3+ years of experience leading a team of software engineers as a principal engineer or lead engineer to architect, and develop live service mobile, web, or cross-platform games. 

  • Experience with WebGL/ThreeJS

  • Shipped 3-5 mid-size games as a senior or lead engineer.

  • Bonus: Experience with Web3.

  • Workday must overlap by at least 5 hours with Miami, FL, USA
