Local Communications Coordinator

📍 Roatán, Honduras

Próspera is seeking a dynamic, highly organized, and community-oriented professional to join our team as a Local Communications Coordinator.

This role will serve as the on-the-ground representative of the Communications Department in Roatán, supporting communications initiatives, stakeholder engagement, community outreach, event coordination, content creation, and VIP visits. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator who enjoys building relationships, coordinating projects, and representing an innovative organization in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of communication and public affairs initiatives.

  • Coordinate community engagement activities and stakeholder outreach.

  • Assist with social media content creation and community management.

  • Coordinate VIP, investor, media, and content creator visits.

  • Support planning and execution of events, workshops, and community meetings.

  • Collect and communicate community feedback and stakeholder concerns.

  • Assist with internal communications and employee engagement initiatives.

  • Prepare weekly progress reports and maintain communication records.

  • Support crisis communication efforts following established protocols.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, International Relations, Business Administration, Political Science, or a related field.

  • Fluent English and Spanish (written and verbal).

  • 2–4 years of experience in communications, public relations, community engagement, stakeholder relations, marketing, or a related field.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and project coordination abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Residency in Roatán or willingness to relocate.

Preferred

  • Experience working with international organizations, investors, media, NGOs, or government stakeholders.

  • Experience coordinating events, community programs, or public-facing initiatives.

  • Experience supporting social media and digital communications.

  • Experience in tourism, hospitality, real estate development, investment promotion, or destination marketing environments.
