Pirate Wires is hiring its first sales hire to help monetize our presence across email, web, audio and video. This is a full-time position.

Pirate Wires is a fast-growing media company covering American technology, politics, and culture. We’re responsible for many millions of impressions every month across social media, our website, email, podcast, and video.

Your Role

You will cultivate relationships with tech, lifestyle and consumer brands to sell a high volume of ads that appear in Pirate Wires content. Additionally, you’ll be responsible for:

  • working with clients to craft messaging that will achieve their goals

  • creatively packaging ad products to maximize client results, and revenue to Pirate Wires

  • measuring and communicating results back to your clients

  • maximizing revenue per ad

  • working with the editorial team to place ads within our content appropriately

Additionally, you will work to develop larger, in-depth, cross-platform partnerships with brands who want to collaborate with Pirate Wires

You will work more than 40 hours per week if necessary to achieve your goals.

Expectations

Your initial expectations:

  1. You will achieve a >90% ad fill rate on all emails

  2. You will meet quotas for job postings to appear on the Pirate Wires job board

  3. You will meet aggressive and specific monthly and yearly sales revenue quotas

Your Skills

You must have a demonstrated track record of delivering results.

Sales experience is a must. Experience in ad sales preferred but not required.

You must be self-motivated, have great email skills, high energy, and a bias toward action. You must have that dog in you.

Compensation

Compensation will consist of a base + generous commission on revenue generated

Location

Must be a United States citizen that operates within a US time zone.
