Summary

The tech editor is responsible for producing original journalism for our tech beat and overseeing the creation, editing, and publication of tech-related content. This is a high-impact role for someone with strong instincts and network — an editor who can move fast and spot a real story to move the narrative forward in technology. This person must not shy away from the intersection of technology with politics and culture. Without winning in those arenas, we believe technology cannot and will not deliver on its promise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Content creation: Consistently produce a demanding volume of deeply researched, fact checked, investigative and journalistic content about the trends, characters, companies, products, and media narratives in tech. Develop a stable of sources inside tech companies. Assist EIC in writing and producing (potentially multiple) tech newsletters on strict deadlines.

  • Content Oversight: Manage and oversee the production of tech related contributor content. Ensure all content meets the company's standards for quality, accuracy, and voice. Develop a stable of freelance contributors who you can hit up to get quick-turnaround pieces on current topics published and distributed.

  • Quality Control: Review and edit articles for clarity, accuracy, and cohesion. Ensure content adheres to style guides and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working at a prominent tech publication strongly preferred, you must show us that your writing and style is a fit for the company
