Summary

The tech editor is responsible for producing original journalism for our tech beat and  overseeing the creation, editing, and publication of tech-related content across Pirate Wires’ media brands. This individual will play a crucial role in maintaining the company's editorial voice and standards while ensuring content remains relevant, accurate, and engaging for our audience of VCs, DC insiders, tech founders, and tech-forward audience. The right candidate for this role will be a hungry self-starter that believes in what Pirate Wires is doing and has an obsessive and meticulous focus on quality. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Content creation: Consistently produce a demanding volume of deeply researched, fact checked, investigative and journalistic content about the trends, characters, companies, products, and media narratives in tech. Develop a stable of sources inside tech companies. Assist EIC in writing and producing (potentially multiple) tech newsletters on strict deadlines.

  • Content Oversight: Manage and oversee the production of tech related contributor content. Ensure all content meets the company's standards for quality, accuracy, and voice. Develop a stable of freelance contributors who you can hit up to get quick-turnaround pieces on current topics published and distributed. 

  • Quality Control: Review and edit articles for clarity, accuracy, and cohesion. Ensure content adheres to style guides and best practices.

  • Content Strategy: Analyze content performance metrics and audience feedback to refine the tech vertical's content strategy. Stay updated with tech industry trends to identify potential content opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working at a prominent tech publication strongly preferred, you must show us that your writing and style is a fit for the company
