Position Overview
Osmoses Inc. seeks a motivated Chemical or Mechanical Engineering Co-op student with a strong background in experimental design, analysis, and hands-on experience with tools (wrenches, tube cutters, calipers, etc). The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of membrane-based filtration or gas separation technologies. Experience using gas chromatography is a plus. As a member of our team, you will support the qualification of membranes and test their gas separation performance under simulated application-specific gas conditions.
What you’ll be doing
Operating and maintaining critical membrane test equipment
Designing experiments to correlate membrane performance with membrane fabrication conditions
Assembling membrane test units
Conducting application-specific membrane and module tests
Keeping accurate records in a lab notebook
Developing a process for data management and consolidation
Writing standard operating procedures
Cross-functional communication, time management, and balancing of priorities
What we’re looking for
A student pursuing a degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Experience working in a laboratory environment
Hands-on experience with basic tools (wrenches, tube cutters, calipers, etc)
Ability to design, execute, and analyze robust experiments
Working knowledge of statistical concepts such as ANOVA or DoEs
Experience in database management or coding is a plus
Experience in gas chromatography is a plus
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Enthusiasm for innovation and technology development.
Ability to intermittently lift up to 20 kg
