Senior React Native Developer (Mobile)

About the role

We sit at the intersection of design and technology and value developers with a keen eye for detail, and a good mix of technical, commercial and UX knowledge. You will take ownership of the entire lifecycle of development and work closely with our delivery teams and senior technical leads.

This is a permanent, full-time position. We’re headquartered in London, we embrace flexible working, and are happy to accept candidates from anywhere in the UK. You’ll be working alongside a multidisciplinary team of technologists, designers, strategists and researchers to deliver digital projects for clients, and for ON internally.

There's a great deal of variety in the role - projects can vary greatly in scope and challenge, and regular rotation can be expected. You’ll have the opportunity to manage and mentor other developers, and have a hand in evolving our processes and culture, and building the team.

Responsibilities

• Developing native apps utilising React Native for client bespoke projects

• Developing architecture, writing code, conducting test-driven development and debugging

• Prepare, plan, co-ordinate, lead and be responsible for the development and testing of mobile apps

• Ensure best practices are followed by staying abreast of industry issues and trends

• Use agile methodologies to drive, optimise, and improve mobile development processes

About you

You should be detail-oriented, passionate about coding, and have a broad understanding of development best practices. The kind of person who loves to problem solve and build products that they can be proud of.

• Experience developing React Native applications

• A good grasp of iOS and Android platforms, having developed them in the past 

• Extensive experience in Javascript and Typescript

• 5+ years of experience with React Native

• Working knowledge of RESTful APIs and event-driven architecture

• Understanding of version control systems (GIT)

• Excellent communication and collaborative skills

• Experience mentoring other developers
  
  

The ideal candidate will also have:

• General experience of mobile application development outside of React Native e.g. with Flutter, Swift, Java, or Kotlin

• Experience of selecting, utilising and maybe creating SDKs

• Experience working with Node.js

• Experience working closely with designs and UX
