Moonlight is a small startup based in San Francisco working to serve tens of millions of tarot hobbyists and professionals worldwide as a blossoming form of online wellness.
As an early engineering hire, you’ll have the opportunity to architect and build scalable infrastructure that enables deeply illuminating moments between friends and practitioners.
You’ll be part of a small, collaborative team, where we’ll be working closely together to make critical technical decisions related to architecture and build processes.

What you’ll be working on
Scaling, optimizing, and maintaining platform infrastructure for realtime tarot, seamlessly connected to a digital deck and tarot services marketplace
Building features and app infrastructure, involving payments and scheduling
Requirements
5+ years of experience in backend and/or full-stack web development
Experience in social consumer products, marketplaces, or online multiplayer games
Experience architecting and maintaining software for large volumes of data
Experience working with online payment processing (such as Stripe and/or Stripe Connect)
Bonus: Comfort working with node.js, AWS, React, and SQL
Bonus: You’re a tarot enthusiast or curious to explore ✨
2 days/week in-person with our team in San Francisco, and otherwise remote
