The Role:

Join our rapidly expanding startup, Mia Share, in revolutionizing tuition solutions for trade and technical schools. We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer eager to build and optimize our data infrastructure and pipelines, supporting our mission to provide top-tier tuition servicing and SaaS platforms. This role demands a self-motivated individual who can handle ambitious goals and deliver results in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines and ETL processes.

  • Optimize and manage data storage solutions to ensure scalability and performance.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data from various sources.

  • Develop and implement data governance frameworks.

  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all platforms.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues and third-party integration challenges.

  • Build and optimize queries and visualizations based on business requirements to support business intelligence and KPI tracking.

Required Skills:

You will be our founding data engineering team member. As such, you will play a key role in advocating for and implementing a solid data stack within Mia Share. You must be familiar with the following types of tools, though we are open to alternatives:

  • Data Ingestion & ETL/ELT Tools: Apache Spark, Apache Airflow, Fivetran, Airbyte

  • Data Storage & Warehousing: Amazon S3, Snowflake, Google BigQuery

  • Data Orchestration: Apache Airflow, Prefect

  • Data Transformation: dbt, Apache Spark

  • Data Streaming: Apache Kafka, Apache Flink

  • Data Visualization / BI Tools: Tableau, Looker, Plotly / Dash

  • Data Governance & Cataloging: Apache Atlas, Amundsen, Great Expectations

  • Programming/DSL Languages: Python, SQL

  • Version Control & Collaboration: GitHub

Work Environment:

Expect a culture of intense focus and impactful work. Your role is crucial in expanding and evolving our technology offerings. While specific tasks and projects are outlined, your creativity and innovation will shape the future of student payment and trade and technical school management technology.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • $100,000 to $130,000 depending on experience
