About the role:

We’re looking for talented freelance content marketing editors (CMEs) to work with us on an ongoing basis.

The role is part content manager and part editorial director.

You’ll be reviewing briefs, conducting developmental and copy edits, managing projects and editorial calendars, and helping us deliver an exceptional experience to clients by developing and updating content guidelines.

We’ll provide you with an interesting book of clients, a process to empower you to edit at the top of your game, and ongoing support from our editorial team.

What you’ll be doing:

Our CMEs’ core mission is to ensure content is “the best piece on a given topic” and that clients experience an exceptional, white-glove service.

You must have a keen eye for missed opportunities and value-adds, moments where explanations can go deeper and, most importantly, to execute them.

It’ll be your job to dissect content on both a micro and macro level. Content must align with our client’s needs, follow their guidelines, speak to their target audiences, deliver value to keep readers hooked, and follow on-page SEO best practices.

Our writers are given everything they need to research and write content that is full of detailed examples, actionable insights, and paragraphs that drive points home. As a CME, you’ll be sense-checking and levelling content from 70% to 90% and beyond.

Specifically, you’ll be:

  • Conducting developmental edits at the brief and draft stages for blog posts, landing pages, email copy, and more

  • Coaching writers through detailed feedback by marking up Google Docs and sharing Loom recordings (show, don’t tell)

  • Producing client content guidelines and amending them based on feedback

  • Contributing to the writer recruitment and onboarding process

  • Managing editorial calendars and scheduling projects

  • Copyediting content to perfection (proofreading, auditing sources, on-page SEO, etc.)

Once hired, you’ll be given access to our internal training that explains exactly how to do everything outlined above—chock full of examples and lessons.

We’re looking for CMEs who:

  • Have excellent attention to detail

  • Can think strategically and critically

  • Feel fulfilled by guiding writers and helping them grow

  • Love polishing content to perfection

  • Can write in a clear, concise manner

  • Understand on-page SEO

  • Recognize what separates value-driven content from the crowd

  • Are extremely well organized and can work to deadlines

  • Can communicate in a consistent and reliable manner

Remote restrictions

  • Workday must overlap by at least 2 hours with London, UK
