About the company
Imagine an unprecedented material innovation that catalyzes the transition of the wind, transportation, and manufacturing industries toward net-zero emission. At Gencores, we are spearheading this complex yet achievable transition.
We are developing new material chemistry, unique high-throughput additive manufacturing technology, and a smart robotic platform to produce ultra-light and structural metamaterials at scale. Wrapped in fiber-reinforced skins, our outperforming components can replace metal parts and make vehicles and wind turbines drastically lighter and more efficient. Our developments are supported by the largest global climate fund, M.I.T, the U.S. Department of Energy, the National Science Foundation, and the most innovative corporate partners.

Your essential job responsibilities:
Design and synthesize polymers and copolymers to produce unique metamaterials from initial laboratory explorations to digital 3D processing and commercialization
Design and perform hands-on studies to improve polymers and materials properties and meet R&D objectives
Generate and analyze experimental data and run simple feasibility studies to overcome synthetic and formulation challenges
Report and present data analysis through group presentations and written reports
Organize and file experimental protocols in the form of S.O.P.s
Manage and advance client and supplier relationships
Your experience or skills:
These points are here to give you an idea of what we think would be a good fit for the job. They are not hard requirements. If you do not fit them perfectly but feel like you would do the job well, do not hesitate to apply!
Able to examine, employ and develop various polymer chemistry and polymerization technics to create novel polymer structures or experimentally reproduce scientific published literature
Strong competency in tensile/Compressive/flexural testing using Instron or similar testers, D.S.C., D.M.A., rheology, FT-IR, UV-Vis
Able to keep developments on track, balancing speed and scientific rigor, within budget
Excellent communication skills with team members and ability to manage external relationships with suppliers and clients
Our preferred qualifications:
M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Polymer Science or Engineering with a focus on polymer synthesis and physical characterization. Industry experience is a valuable plus.
