We are currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team to research, design, develop, test and support the manufacturing of electrical equipment for submersible oil field applications. The Electrical Engineer is expected to be self-directed and able to take the initiative to support the company and employees by providing proactive coaching/mentoring, and helping our organization achieve success.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Designs, maintains, implements, or improves electrical instruments, facilities, components, equipment, and products with emphasis on AC motors and control systems for AC induction and permanent magnet motors.
Performs a wide range of engineering tasks by operating computer-assisted design or engineering software and equipment.
Works with customers, engineers, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering products or projects.
Creates reports and compiling data regarding existing and potential electrical engineering projects and studies.
Ensures compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements by directing or coordinating installation, manufacturing, construction, maintenance, documentation, support, or testing activities.
Prepares specifications for purchases of electrical equipment and materials.
Supervises or trains project team members.
Estimates material, labor, or construction costs for budget preparation.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited school.
1- 2 years’ experience in using AC motor design software (ANSYS) preferred.
Knowledge of motor design and simulation preferred.
Knowledge of control systems (VFD’s) for motors.
Strong Communication Skills.
Excellent verbal and writing skills.
Comfortable in a fast-paced working environment.
Knowledge of applicable codes related to electrical engineering.
Proficient in design and calculation software.
