Duties/Responsibilities:

• Plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs for new products.

• Works within a team to create design of new products and support existing products

• Uses 3D modeling software (Solidworks preferred) to create preliminary designs and detailed machine drawings of the product

• Produces specifications for products and chooses raw materials and components to be used in production

• Builds prototypes of the product and perform tests on the design

• Create/update Bill of Materials for product(s)

• Write detailed work instructions related to assembly/manufacture of product

• Evaluates test data and makes improvements on existing designs

• Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent mechanical and technical skills

• Experience with MS Office tools including, Excel, Word and PowerPoint

• Knowledgeable of ASME standard drafting practices including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing

• Proficient with Solidworks software

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering required

• 1-2 years of experience preferred.
