Cleartrace, an Austin-based Climate Tech startup, is on a mission to help companies proactively decarbonize their energy consumption. Cleartrace allows companies to stand behind their claims of carbon reductions, sustainability, and renewable energy to prevent greenwashing and provide a source of unified, auditable truth.
Are you looking to apply your energy market knowledge to help drive decarbonization at scale?
Cleartrace seeks an experienced Sales Director to help us grow our customer base and to capture market insights to allow us to build products to meet the evolving needs of the market.
As the ideal candidate, you have working knowledge of the US energy markets, sustainability practice, and enterprise experience with C&I customers and energy suppliers, including utilities. You are a quick learner and invigorated by the challenges of an emerging market - finding patterns and sharing knowledge. You have amazing communication skills, are a great storyteller, and are comfortable operating solo or in a team selling environment. In this role, you would work directly with prospective customers, educate them, secure initial commitments, and then expand those commitments over time.
We are based in Austin, Texas, but the role is open to the right candidate anywhere in the United States. Candidates of all backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
About The Role / Responsibilities:
Signing new customers and growing their usage of Cleartrace over time
Prospecting into new accounts, understanding organizational challenges, and developing pipeline
Forecasting accurately at various intervals to help gauge team progress towards goals
Team selling with with internal and external stakeholders including stellar functional collaboration and communication
Diligence in updating the CRM and managing other critical information flows
Using a variety of channels to move the sales process along
Capturing insights from prospects, customers, and others in the market to flow into our product evolution.
Keeping abreast of market movement/trends, competition, regulation, and general movement within the industry
About You / Qualifications:
6-10 years of relevant enterprise sales experience
Prior experience in at least one of the following areas:
Data centers
Corporate real estate
Utilities
Sustainability solution offerings
Working knowledge of US energy markets
Ability to travel, as needed, including for customer meetings and/or conferences
Bonus Qualifications:
Insatiable curiosity
SaaS selling experience or transferrable energy market experience
Familiarity with the Challenger Selling strategies or something analogous
A passion for developing new accounts and building relationships
A high level of GSD (Get Stuff Done)
Experience with modern selling tools: CRM, sales automation, contact data tools
An amazing story telling ability in addition to other unique communication skills
Passionate about helping to address climate change
Energized working for a start-up

Annual salary range for this role is $100-125K/base comp, based on experience and skill level.
