Job description
Atlantic Quantum is seeking a research scientist who will develop superconducting digital logic circuits for manipulating quantum processors. You will be working closely with our design team to perform the simulation, layout, and verification of superconducting digital and mixed-signal integrated circuits with the goal of integrating them into quantum computing systems to build fault-tolerant quantum hardware. Your tasks will include:
Designing and simulating superconducting digital logic circuits for generating waveforms tailored to qubit control and readout.
Designing and simulating superconducting digital logic circuits to implement real-time decoders for quantum error correction.
Collaborating with the fabrication, software, and measurement teams to transform conceptual ideas into the production, verification, and validation of fully integrated quantum processors.
Atlantic Quantum believes that fault-tolerant quantum hardware is the key to making progress in quantum computing. We take on this uniquely tough challenge with a team of deep experts in the field, anchored in Cambridge and Gothenburg to reflect our MIT and Chalmers roots. Our combined US and EU presence helps attract talent, investments, and partnerships to accelerate the development and commercialization of scalable quantum computing. We offer flexible work in a fast-moving start-up environment, with strong ties to world-class academic research.
Required Qualifications
PhD in physics, electrical engineering, software engineering, or a related engineering discipline. Alternatively, an MSc in one of these fields and at least three years of work experience.
Research/Industry experience in the design and simulation of superconducting digital logic circuits such as single flux quantum (SFQ) logic with a track record of relevant publications, patents, and/or open-source software.
Proficiency with computer-aided design tools and electromagnetic simulation tools.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in superconducting quantum computing research.
Experience with low-temperature measurements of superconducting digital logic circuits.
Location
Cambridge, MA.
Benefits
Health insurance, competitive vacation and parental leave policies, equity award.
Citizenship requirement
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US.
