Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Residential Interior Designer with advanced Chief Architect software skills to join a growing residential remodeling company in Barberton, OH. This position focuses on designing custom kitchens, bathrooms, and whole-home renovations, helping homeowners transform their spaces into functional and beautifully designed living environments.

The ideal candidate combines creativity with technical expertise, producing detailed construction-ready plans while collaborating closely with clients and project teams from initial consultation through project completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design custom kitchens, bathrooms, additions, and whole-home renovation projects using Chief Architect software

  • Meet with homeowners to understand project goals, budgets, lifestyles, and design preferences

  • Create floor plans, elevations, 3D renderings, and presentation materials

  • Produce accurate construction documents and detailed design drawings for field implementation

  • Coordinate with project managers, contractors, suppliers, and vendors throughout the design process

  • Assist clients with selections of cabinetry, flooring, countertops, fixtures, lighting, paint colors, and finishes

  • Revise designs based on client feedback while maintaining project schedules and budgets

  • Ensure designs comply with residential building standards and construction requirements

  • Maintain organized project documentation and ensure design accuracy from concept through installation

  • Balance creativity, functionality, and constructability in every project

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in residential interior design, remodeling, or home renovation

  • Advanced proficiency in Chief Architect software is required

  • Strong knowledge of residential construction methods, remodeling practices, and space planning

  • Experience creating construction-ready drawings and client presentation packages

  • Ability to manage multiple residential projects simultaneously

  • Excellent communication, organization, and client service skills

  • Strong attention to detail and creative problem-solving abilities

  • Experience working directly with homeowners throughout the design process is highly preferred
