  • CA
  • Remote
  • 130K - 165K USD a year

Overview
We are looking for a full-time remote Project Manager with residential construction experience who can take ownership of projects across California from planning through closeout. AlphaHire is recruiting on behalf of a client in the residential construction industry. This role is focused on managing schedules, budgets, subcontractors, documentation, and field execution across active residential projects. The position is ideal for a hands-on PM who understands residential construction workflows, client expectations, jobsite coordination, and the importance of keeping projects moving with accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee residential construction projects across California from preconstruction planning through final closeout

  • Build and maintain project schedules, budgets, scopes, subcontractor timelines, and milestone tracking for active residential work

  • Coordinate subcontractors, field teams, vendors, inspectors, and internal stakeholders to keep projects on schedule and within scope

  • Review drawings, specifications, proposals, change orders, selections, and project documentation for accuracy and execution readiness

  • Track project costs, approve invoices, manage change orders, and identify budget risks before they impact profitability

  • Lead regular project updates with field teams, subcontractors, clients, and leadership to resolve issues and maintain accountability

  • Monitor quality, safety, schedule, permitting, and inspection requirements across assigned residential job sites

  • Support procurement, material coordination, and vendor communication to prevent delays and keep projects moving

  • Maintain clear project records, status updates, punch lists, and closeout documentation for each assigned project

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of residential construction project management experience with direct ownership of projects

  • Experience managing residential construction projects in California or similar regulated construction markets

  • Strong understanding of residential construction schedules, budgets, subcontractor scopes, drawings, specifications, permitting, inspections, and closeout requirements

  • Experience working with subcontractors, field supervisors, vendors, inspectors, homeowners, and client-facing project stakeholders

  • Proficiency with construction project management tools, scheduling software, spreadsheets, and digital documentation platforms

  • Ability to manage projects remotely while maintaining strong communication, accountability, and field visibility

  • Must have direct project ownership experience, not only assistant project management or project coordination experience

  • Residential construction experience required; candidates with only commercial, civil, or industrial construction experience will not be the best fit
