About Aboard

Aboard is an AI-native software delivery agency. We're not vibe coding, not SaaS, and not a traditional agency—we use AI across the entire development lifecycle to ship production-grade custom software in weeks, not months, at a fraction of traditional cost. The combination of off the shelf and our proprietary tools help us move fast; our team closes the loop with the expert refinement that makes systems enterprise-grade.

The Role

As a Solution Engineer, you'll be the bridge between customer needs and delivered software. This hybrid role pairs pre-sales technical consulting with hands-on implementation: you'll run discovery, design and prototype solutions, close deals, and build the production systems that solve real problems.

It's a role for someone who can translate business requirements into working software while showing customers what's now possible.

What You'll Do

Solution Design

  • Lead technical discovery to understand customer problems and requirements

  • Run tailored demos and build proofs-of-concept that validate feasibility and business value

  • Articulate Aboard's differentiation from traditional agencies, SaaS, and AI coding tools

Implementation & Delivery

  • Produce key artifacts: requirements docs, technical specs, and data schemas

  • Build production-grade software—data models, business logic, integrations, and UIs—using AI tooling

  • Partner with engineering on legacy migration, security, integrations, and deployment into customer environments

  • Ensure solutions meet enterprise security, scalability, and compliance requirements

Customer Success & Collaboration

  • Provide post-launch support and synthesize feedback for Product and Engineering

  • Contribute to our internal knowledge base and solution patterns

  • Drive adoption and expansion across customer accounts

What We're Looking For

Required Experience

  • 5+ years in solution engineering, technical consulting, product management, or similar client-facing technical roles

  • Track record of designing custom software solutions and seeing them through to production

  • Technical fluency with modern web architectures—you can evaluate tradeoffs without writing production code daily

  • Strong UI/UX instincts and the ability to translate business requirements into clear specs

  • Proven ability to build rapport with both technical and business stakeholders, and to close or scope technical engagements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in consulting, agency, or professional services

  • Vertical depth in insurance/insurtech, finance, or operations

  • Familiarity with AI/ML tools and prompt engineering

  • Experience at an early-stage startup
