Role

Aboard is a new software startup created by software veterans. We seek a Senior Product Designer to help build the future of teamwork using modern tools.

Aboard is a dynamic combination of chat, workflow management, and data management, all built into one accessible web-and-mobile application. Your job will be to make it better every day.

Qualifications

We’re a remote-first organization with employees throughout the U.S., although our headquarters is in NYC. You’ll need to be available during most east coast working hours, and we would like to bring you to NYC on occasion.

Our design tool of choice is Figma with a heavy emphasis on continuously building the Aboard design component libraries as we build. Our design philosophy is rooted in a belief that workplace tools should feel as natural and familiar as consumer-grade tools and with a focus on speed, reliability and mobile-appropriate parity for all product features.

You will be:

  • Collaborating with leadership and product managers to understand requirements.

  • Working closely with engineers to deliver fleshed out deliverables with a specific attention to interactions details.

  • Focused on delivering a top-notch experience and rapid iteration as our product continues to evolve from user feedback.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Bring a positive, focused attitude and genuine desire to help other people get their work done, which is the whole point of the product.

  • Understand the relationship between engineering and design. We are a small team, but our engineers are well-equipped to have a supportive environment to iterate through clear communication and an attention to design details.

  • Be curious and excited to help shape Aboard, both through their own experience and user-driven research.

We’re a small company and every designer has a seat at the table to contribute to our vision of the future of work.

Working @ Aboard

Aboard is a new software product but it’s built by people who have built and scaled large software organizations before. It’s a well-funded, stable place to work. You’ll be working with a small team of experienced developers, designers, and product managers. We work very hard but keep normal hours. We’re respectful people. Many of us are parents with young kids.

Studies show that women and members of underrepresented groups apply for jobs only if they meet 100% of the qualifications. Aboard encourages everyone interested in a role to apply. We look forward to your application!

Aboard is an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.

Pay will align with experience but will be competitive with other startups.
