Product and Project Manager

  • Product Management
  • Full-time
  • Brooklyn, NY
  • Remote friendly

Posted on May 18, 2023

Aboard is a new software startup created by software veterans. We seek a Product and Project Manager to help build the future of teamwork. We are looking for someone who can work directly with our users—and use their feedback to guide the product roadmap for our team of developers and product designers.

Aboard is a dynamic combination of collaboration, and data management, all built into one accessible web-and-mobile application. Your job will be to make it better every day.

We’re a remote-first organization with employees throughout the U.S., although our headquarters is in NYC. You’ll need to be available during most east coast working hours, and we would like to bring you to NYC on occasion.

You will be:

  • Helping people at organizations (our Alpha Partners) get set up with Aboard.

  • Talking with them and learning about them via a variety of channels (Slack, video calls, etc.)

  • Synthesizing their feedback into actionable requirements.

  • Working with designers, engineers, and product managers to prioritize those requirements.

  • And, by doing so, helping us ship software every few days.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Bring a positive, focused attitude and genuine desire to help other people get their work done, which is the whole point of the product.

  • Have great communication skills (written, verbal, video-call, and text chat).

  • Is a great listener. Tell us what makes you one. Tell us how you listen.

  • Understand how products are made, and how software is shipped.

We’re a small company and this is a role to grow on. You could be a proven product manager looking for a reset, or someone looking to make a lateral career move into a product-focused role, someone returning to work after a while out—whatever your experience, we’ll be glad to hear from you. We’re open to freelance or contract work, too.

Working @ Aboard

Aboard is a new software product but it’s built by people who have built and scaled large software organizations before. It’s a well-funded, stable place to work. You’ll be working with a small team of experienced developers and designers. We work very hard but keep normal hours. We’re respectful people. Many of us are parents with young kids.

Studies show that women and members of underrepresented groups apply for jobs only if they meet 100% of the qualifications. Aboard encourages everyone interested in a role to apply. We look forward to your application!

Aboard is an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.

Pay will align with experience but will be competitive with other startups.

Please use the form below. We are looking for a reasonable combination of:

  • Resume

  • Cover letter describing product experience

  • LinkedIn profile

  • Anything else relevant

We look forward to hearing from you!
